Handover gates are mandatory milestones based on Systems and Subsystems for Greenfield projects and on Primary and Secondary Handovers for Brownfield projects. Handover gates mark the achievement of a specific phase of work.
Handovers and ITRs/Certificates are linked by handover gates. For example, a Pre-Commissioning ITR for a sub system can be signed, and the Pre-Commissioning activity related to this ITR be performed only when all the Construction related ITR part of that subsystem is signed, all A type punch lists are cleared, all MOC that could have an impact on Construction are answered and implemented, and the Handover Certificate between Construction and Pre-Commissioning for that subsystem is signed.
